What is Mentoring?
Mentoring is a structured and trusting relationship that brings young people together with caring individuals who offer guidance, support and encouragement aimed at developing the competence and character of the mentee.
What is Forever Mentoring?
Forever Mentoring is FBA’s youth mentoring program. It was established with the belief that everyone can benefit from providing and receiving positive guidance through mentoring.
What kind of mentoring is offered through Forever Mentoring?
We focus mainly on encouraging academic success, social development, and professional growth.
The various forms of mentoring offered include:
• Traditional mentoring: One adult to one young person.
• Group mentoring: One adult to up to four young people.
• E-mentoring: Mentoring via e-mail and the Internet.
Who is eligible to participate as a Mentee?
We welcome teens from the ages of 12 to 18.
Who is eligible to participate as a Mentor?
In order to provide our Mentees with the best possible guidance in their academic and career paths, we welcome adults and young adults whom satisfy the following criteria:
• Currently attend or have graduated from a college or university
• Working professionals
• Leaders in community or place of work

What is the cost to participate in Forever Mentoring?
In accordance with the goals of FBA to contribute to the community, Forever Mentoring is open and free to the public.
Where and how many times will Mentees meet with their Mentor?
Mentors are not required to meet a minimum of hours. However it is recommended to meet at least once a month in order to develop a meaningful relationship. Mentors and mentees will be allowed to develop a schedule that is unique and appropriate for them.
Where they meet will also be unique to each case, ranging from homes, libraries, public parks to a work place. However, parent consent is required and it must adhere to the guidelines set by Forever Mentoring which will be provided during training.
When is the deadline to apply?
Forever Mentoring is currently undergoing its first trial run of the program. For the time being the deadline to apply will be February 1, 2012.

How can I apply to be a Mentor and what are the requirements?
You can apply by filling out the enrollment form.
Requirements:
• Submit application before deadline
• Pass background check
• Attend orientation and training sessions.
• Commit to meeting/communicating with Mentee on a regular basis.
How are Mentors selected?
Forever Mentoring recruits volunteer Mentors based on academic excellence, outstanding achievement, professionalism, experience, and willingness to work with youth.
